What is the Sessional Staff Standards framework?
The Sessional Staff Standards Framework sets in place standards, or criteria, to evaluate the quality of performance and outcomes in learning and teaching, and in management and administrative policy, procedure and practices affecting sessional teachers in higher education.
The Framework can be used to evaluate practices and benchmark across a university at four levels: Institutional, Faculty /School, Department, and Individual. It recognises that different institutions, departments and faculties have different needs, resources, and responsibilities, and are at different stages in developing good practice.
As such, this Framework and the accompanying interactive tool (B-BIT) should be used as a developmental tool to stimulate reflection and action and to work towards good practice.
